A few ramblings.
Education
Jessa holds two Master’s degrees from the University of Cambridge (UK). She first earned an MPhil in Geography through the Miriam Rothschild Scholarship in Conservation Leadership. She then completed an MPhil in Biological Sciences (Seafood for Societal Health), supported by The Fishmongers’ Company’s Charitable Trust.
She has a Bachelor of Science in Biology (with Latin honours), majoring in Marine Biology, from Palawan State University in the Philippines, funded by the NAGAO Natural Environmental Foundation scholarship.
In 2022, Jessa became a Kinship Conservation Fellow and is also a licensed Environmental Planner in the Philippines.
Affiliations
Jessa is co-founder of Centre for Sustainability PH, a youth and women-led conservation charity in the Philippines. In 2019, it was recognised as one of the Ten Accomplished Youth Organisations (TAYO) in the country for its work on nation-building with a focus on climate action. She is also a member of the IUCN Otter Specialist Group and a Climate Reality Leader.
Currently in the academic space, Jessa is a member of the Cambridge Philosophical Society and an associate fellow at the Royal Geographic Society.
